Course Restrictions: LE / MIL ONLY
The Patrol Tactics Instructor course will teach the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of patrol shift operations. It will include hands-on repetition of these TTPs and evaluate their application under opposition using NLTA equipment.
The curriculum also covers:
A review of law enforcement data related to “structure” calls for service and response. Human behavior and its impact on TTPs and decision-making under stress.
Low-light operational considerations. Participants who successfully complete all instructor-evaluated blocks will receive the necessary materials to teach Centrifuge Training’s patrol shift tactics curriculum within their own department.
Course Prerequisites
- Current LE / mil / gov credentials.
- Able to demonstrate and employ safe weapons handling during courses of fire.
Individual Equipment List
- Full duty belt, tactical loadout, or plain clothes—whichever matches your normal work setup.
- Mandatory: CAT or SOF-T tourniquet carried on your person.
- Recommended: IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit).
- 250 rounds of 9mm Non Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA) marking rounds.
- 150 rounds of 5.56 NLTA marking rounds.
- Weapons and/or conversion kits compatible with your NLTA platform.
- Long sleeve shirt and gloves (mandatory) for Force-on-Force Opposition
- Knee pads, elbow pads, and groin protection (optional).
- Handheld flashlight(s), clear eye protection, and extra batteries for low-light work.
- Weapon-mounted light for pistol (optional).
- Holster that fits your NLTA pistol
- Notepad and pen.
- Water and snacks.
